2 years ago, President Noynoy Aquino approved the K to 12 program. Some people disagree with this program but some agrees.
Should we agree or disagree with this program? first, we should know and understand what K to 12 program is.

The K to 12 program covers kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of primary education, four years of junior high, and two years of senior high school[SHS]) for the mastery of concepts of skills and develop knowledge and prepare graduates for middle-level skills development, employment and entrepreneurship.

Fortify early childhood education (kindergarten)
Based on research, children who complete a kindergarten program are better prepared for primary education. That's why K to 12 program will strengthen the total development of the brain in the early years of human being.

Basic education
The subjects are taught advanced as early as elementary. In order to gain their knowledge and a mastery of skills in each level.
Senior high school is two years of schooling. Students may choose a specialization based on amplitude, interests, and school capacity. SHS subjects will fall under either the core curriculum or specific tracks.

After going through kindergarten, enhanced elementary and junior high, and a specialized senior high program, every K to 12 graduate will be ready to go into different paths - may it be further education, employment, or entrepreneurship.

So when we know and understand this topic, we can already identify its pros and cons.
The only disadvantage of this program is that many parents will suffer on the tuition fee of their children. And the students will have a difficult time in adjusting in their lessons. But it has so many advantages. The K to 12 can enhance our knowledge and skills. And it's a big help not only to the graduates and to the parents, but also to the country and to our future.

If K to 12 will be pushed through, our 12 years coursed Filipino graduates could meet the standards imposed by large companies that could help them get a better job. There are many unemployed Filipino graduates because we lack some more knowledge and skills. Large companies and institutions need skilled and knowledged workers. Yes, we Filipinos are skilled enough to have such job but again, companies impose high standards in choosing workers. So, I think DepEd could help us Filipinos to have our economy boost.

Some universities here in the Philippines decided to have the opening of classes on august and will end in may. Some students think that DepEd only do this for us to blend with the other countries. And they disagree with that idea for the fact that they will have a class in summer. But the Deped says that we are the only country in Asia who's having a class in June-March. So we will start a class in August. And given it's advantage that the classes would be held not in the rainy season wherein the suspension of classes could be prevented. And by this, the flow of the school year will be better because there would be less number of suspended days. So the students could have easier and uninterrupted time to study.
